RE: Twist throttle on quad .. love it/hate it?
I'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to post their thoughts and opinions. The UPS man delivered my pacakge today and I'll install the twister this week end and try it out at Pismo a week later.
I've ridden motorcycles off and on for years so the twist is way more natural to me than the thumb. I've had several quads and all had thumb throttle and I've never liked any of them.
I was all set to order the combo throttle a few months back but after reading reviews about breakage and throttle sticking I decided not to.
If I decide I don't like the twist I'll just change it back like others said.
I rode motorcycles first then 3 wheelers, then quads. The first thing I did with all of our 3 wheelers & quads was install a twist throttle. It was the easiest transition ever for my wife & myself. We have never had a problem with the throttle sticking open during a crash nor did we pull the throttle harder if the front wheels started coming up. I raced a 3 wheeler one time in a desert race with a thumb throttle & I have never had such bad arm pump in my life. If you are used to riding a motorcycle you will have no problems. Just my $.02

They have awesome non-wing sprints @ Manzanita all of the time. The World Of Outlaws race Friday & Saturday night before the Nascar Spring event.Sprints on dirt. Nothing better.

I am sure there are some good deals on 250Rs out there. I have a 400EX too. I think it is a great all around bike. It just won't keep up with the 450s.

I have a 2005 YFZ 450. I love it. It does great in the dunes. Mine has always been easy to start. I have the White Brothers exhaust, K&N filter with outerwear, twist throttle & rejetted carb. I have run it in the mountains between El Centro & San Diego. I am sure the fuel injection is better, but I have never missed the reverse.
